Subject: Universal Internet Citation system Date: Tue, 04 Mar 1997 00:10:27 -0800 From: "Anthony C. Odiorne" To: citation@teo.uscourts.gov Dear Sirs, The use of a universal Internet citation system should be adopted by the Federal courts. The last few years have made it apparent that the Internet and the World Wide Web are the growing wave of the future in communications. As more attorneys gain online access, the ability to access judicial opinions in a timely manner becomes even more crucial. While it is true that West publishing has been of great service in helping to establish universal citation systems, new technology has made available new opportunities for the judiciary to improve these systems. Therefore, I respectfully request that the ABA's proposals be implemented to help facilitate access to court opinions for all attorneys and their clients, and not just those who feel compelled to utilize West's services. Sincerely, Anthony C. Odiorne Attorney at Law Office: 972-985-1682 Pager: 214-804-5383 e-mail: aodiorne@post.smu.edu
