Subject: ABA Citation Resolution Date: Fri, 14 Mar 1997 12:41:34 -0600 From: "William B. Kelley" To: citation@teo.uscourts.gov March 14, 1997 I support use of the proposed public domain citation system. I have been a state supreme and appellate court law clerk. The extra work required to number opinions and paragraphs would be minimal. Any court system's computer services office should easily be able to furnish clerks and secretaries with software to make the numbering process automatic. My current employment is only part-time, and I do not have access to LEXIS and Westlaw. It would make it far easier and more affordable for persons like me, as well as nonlawyers, to find the law if a public domain citation system were in use. I urge adoption of the proposal. William B.
